Working with a diverse range of mediums, which include Oils, Pastels, Acrylics, drawing mediums, collage and mixed media.
Ann describes herself as a ‘Restless Painter’, due to her passion for experimentation with a host mediums and techniques and a love of a wide variety of genre’, from Traditional Still Life to the Surreal, because of this, her concepts and painting style are governed entirely by what inspires her at any given moment and therefore  employs whatever method or materials she feels will achieve that vision.

Practicing artist for over 30 years, Jane Gillings uses discarded materials and objects to create both large and small conceptual sculptural works. Her work is guided by the material she uses which is sometimes altered to become a ghost of what it once was yet maintaining enough integrity to be recognizable with careful inspection from a curious audience. Often her work uses metaphor to create ambiguous meaning and can be interpreted from personal and universal viewpoints.
Jane has been a finalist in a number of outdoor sculpture exhibitions including Sculpture at Scenic World, Sculpture at Sawmillers, Sculpture in the Vineyards, Willoughby Sculpture prize, North Sydney Art Prize, Woollahra Small Sculpture Prize, 'Hidden' at Rookwood and at Sculpture by The Sea where she has exhibited 12 times. jane was awarded Kids Choice at Sculpture by the Sea in 2009, and second in the Kids choice voting in 2017 as well at the NSW Art Gallery Volunteer Task force award and staff choice. She was commended for her work in Hidden at Rookwood in 2017.
Jane has worked as a casual artist-educator at the Art Gallery NSW as well as running children’s and adult workshops for the National Art School, NSW Dept. of Education, Australian Museum, local councils, private colleges and schools as well as after school classes in her Avoca Beach studio for the past decade.
Her work is sought-after for public and private permanent and ephemeral commissions and collections including Dolby Sound Australia, Parramatta Council, Brookfield Australia, Royal North Shore Hospital, The Galleries Victoria and M&C Saatchi Sydney, ABC Radio, Darling Quarter and Darling Harbour, Macquarie University, Mona Farm Braidwood and Parley Adidas in 2018 for the Commonwealth games on the Gold Coast. The most recent work was for the Botanic Gardens in Sydney as part of the “Alchemy of a Rainforest” exhibition and features a variety of oversized hand-crafted realistic models of flowers, fruit, animals and fungi. The exhibition runs until 2026 and is in the Calyx building

Originally from Russia, I lived about 10 years in UK and Spain. Since 2019 I permanently live and work in Australia and have a modest studio where I spend all my time often assisted by my dog.
My art interests formed quite early back in Russia, where I enjoyed and studied literature, poetry, visual arts and music. I have not received a formal art education (despite having 3 other degrees in chemistry, software engineering and business) however I consider myself self-educated in art through reading books on art history, sculpture, techniques.
In my work, I often try to find answers to existential questions like: where is beauty and joy in our lives come from?; why do we enjoy living if our strongest memories are of negative experiences?; what is the meaning of life itself? Reflecting on the changing society and non-political experiential observations I draw from my observations. I see human life as a flow of emotional states underpinned by spiritual experiences that we often avoid investigating and, therefore, understanding.
My goal in art is to be able to express emotional and spiritual experiences via a sculptural form. To achieve that I often experiment with the physical language, textures and colours of my sculpture.
In recent years I have been nominated as finalist in a few art competitions, including Sutherland/Hazelhurst art competition, UniSQ Biennial Art Award and Fisher’s Ghost Art Award
I have also been featured in a 2021 Interview for Foreign influence TV program.

‘Drawing is the foundation for my art work, executed in a wide variety of mediums, where I enjoy the tactile connection created by line in both edge and surface quality. Abstracted design underpins my artworks enjoying exploring the emotional impact of space and rhythm within the framework of Contemporary Realism’
Janet runs classes in Life Drawing and Workshops in Portrait Drawing and Watercolours at her Avoca studio. She has won many prizes, has had 10 solo exhibitions in Australia and Overseas and participated in numerous group shows. Born in New Zealand, Margaret came to Sydney as an eager young display artist in the
1960’s and immediately supplemented her income by painting portraits. She is largely
self-taught, with short stints at East Sydney TAFE (now National Art School) and more recently 3 years at the Sydney Gallery School.
In the past decade Margaret has won many awards and her paintings have sold exceptionally well in a variety of exhibitions and galleries across Australia. Her paintings on silk are also popular internationally and hang in overseas collections in Canada, Japan, Korea, England, New Zealand and the USA.
Margaret is mainly a two-dimensional artist and an occasional sculptor – two modes of creative practice that capture her love of natural beauty and quirkiness of spirit. Gathering inspiration from the idyllic environment in which she lives and her love of travel, she prefers to create her own images rather than duplicate actual places.
Recognised for her unique techniques for painting on silk, Margaret has discovered a challenging, but very effective way of bringing to life the brilliant colours, deep reflections and subtleness of the Australian landscape. In a world often pre-occupied with materialism and ‘belongings’, it is Margaret’s desire to reawaken in people an awareness
of the simple beauty of our natural surroundings, and the pleasures and rewards that come from it.
By way of contrast, and to keep things interesting, Margaret’s etchings enable her to make social comments on things close to her heart. Margaret’s sculptures and works on canvas evoke a sense of humour and provoke thought about the modern world.

My art studies began in the early eighties at City Art Institute (now COFA) where I was taught by (amongst others) Kevin Connor and Idris Murphy. Painting, drawing and printmaking (lithography, mono-printing) were the first mediums I worked in. In the 1990’s my work was exhibited at galleries such as Niagara Gallery (Melbourne) and the Eva Breuer Gallery (Sydney) and the 460 Gallery (Central Coast).Alongside painting I was also making jewellery (since art school days). Ultimately, I transitioned into full time lampworking (making glass beads in the flame) and jewellery making. My jewellery was exhibited in many galleries around Australia and my one-of -a-kind pieces were collected by many loyal followers for almost 20 years.
Around 2015 I began to learn to throw pots at the Central Coast Potters Society and since then, have set up a home studio. My approach to pottery is informed by the “painter’s eye”. Completely at ease with colour and mark making and not constrained by ideas of perfection and production of matching multiples, I create one-off pieces
